SUBMIT THE APPLICATION TO THE TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT BODY
It allows you to apply for the designation of Technical Assessment Body and Extension of the designation of Technical Assessment Body (TAB). TABs are designated to issue European Technical Assessments and European Assessment Documents under Regulation (EU) 305/2011, which establishes harmonised conditions for the marketing of construction products.
Who can apply?
Any public, private or mixed organisation that declares that it meets the requirements set out in Table 2 of Annex IV to Regulation (EU) 305/2011.
When can you apply?
At any time, provided that the conditions indicated in the service requirements (below) are met.

Service requirements
Only bodies that:
- Declare that they fulfil the requirements set out in Table 2 of Annex IV to the Regulation;
- Submit an application for designation to the IPQ, indicating the range or ranges of products set out in Table 1 of Annex IV to the Regulation for which they wish to be designated, accompanied by a manual of procedures for the system implemented, demonstrating compliance with the requirements set out in Table 2 of Annex IV to the Regulation;
- Demonstrate compliance with the guidelines approved by the European Commission for carrying out the assessment of TABs, in accordance with Article 29(4) of the Regulation; d) Declare that they undertake to contribute to the organisation of TABs, as provided for in Article 31(5) of the Regulation.
- Declare their commitment to contribute to the organisation of TABs, as provided for in Article 31(5) of the Regulation.
Within the scope of their activity, the bodies designated under the terms of the previous paragraph are obliged to send the IPQ:
- Specific annual reports describing their activity as TABs, accompanied by a declaration that they continue to comply with the requirements set out in Table 2 of Annex IV to the Regulation;
- Annual reports describing their participation in the organisation of TABs;
- A report with detailed information whenever there is a change in the conditions for acting as a TAB.
How much does the service cost?
Order nº. 6018/2016 of 5 May defines the fees applicable to this service:
€ 750.00 (plus VAT at the legal rate in force) for the appointment process;
€ 500.00 (plus VAT at the legal rate in force) for the extension of the
designation.

How long does the process take?
10 working days after payment and provided that the file is complete, the applicant organisation is informed of the status of the application and whether it is ready to be notified to the European Commission.
