OTHER SPACES

Although the space of the Metrology Museum that is accessible to the public is perfectly identified, in the east wing of the ground floor of Building A of IPQ, part of the collection under the custody of the Museum is stored in other IPQ facilities, in reserved areas.

However, it is possible for visitors to appreciate some weights and measures and various standards that are on display in other public spaces of the IPQ, namely in the entrance halls of Building A (near the Museum) and Building B, where you access most of the Metrology services at IPQ.

There is also, in the Museum’s facilities, next to the exhibition space, an adequately equipped room that is used to carry out educational activities with the children who visit the Museum, namely those from the 1st cycle of Basic Education (elementary school).

In this space, children have the opportunity to make several measurements, manipulating real instruments and consolidating, in a playful way, the knowledge acquired in the visit they previously made to the Permanent Exhibition of the Museum.
